Removing an EZGO golf cart dash is a model-specific job. The TXT, RXV, Medalist, and other E-Z-GO platforms use different dash panels, fasteners, switches, and wiring layouts, so identify the exact cart before removing trim or electrical components.
Identify the model and year first
Dash construction can change between generations. A TXT dash is not removed the same way as an RXV dash. Confirm the serial/model information and use the correct service documentation where available.
See our EZGO TXT model guide or EZGO RXV identification guide.
Disconnect electrical power
Before touching switches or wiring, place the cart in a safe service state and isolate power according to the model’s service procedure. Electric carts can have both high-current traction wiring and lower-voltage accessory circuits behind the dash.
Remove loose accessories first
Phone mounts, storage inserts, stereo panels, cup holders, or aftermarket switch plates can hide fasteners. Photograph the dash before disassembly so you have a reference for reassembly.
Locate the dash fasteners
Use the correct screwdriver, socket, or trim tool for the visible fasteners. Do not pry hard on molded plastic before confirming that every screw, clip, and hidden fastener has been released.
Label switches and connectors
As the panel comes forward, label connectors for the key switch, lights, USB outlets, radio, gauges, or other accessories. Taking photos of connector positions can prevent mistakes later.
Do not pull on wiring
Support the dash panel while disconnecting plugs. Pull connectors by their housings rather than tugging the wires. If a connector is locked, release its tab before separating it.
Inspect behind the dash
With the panel removed, check for loose terminals, rubbed wires, unsupported aftermarket wiring, corrosion, or heat damage. Repair wiring problems before closing the dash.
Reassemble carefully
Reconnect every labeled plug, place wiring away from sharp edges or moving steering parts, and test the electrical functions before fully tightening trim. Do not overtighten screws into plastic.
Bottom line
EZGO dash removal is straightforward when the cart is correctly identified and the wiring is documented. Disconnect power, remove fasteners methodically, label every connector, and avoid forcing plastic trim.
