Golf Cart Cup Holders & Dash Storage: Fitment Guide

Cup holders and dash storage look like simple golf cart accessories, but poor fitment can block switches, interfere with the steering wheel or create clutter around the driver.

Where they mount

Common options include dash-top organizers, under-dash trays, steering-column cups, clamp-on holders and model-specific dash inserts. Model-specific parts usually provide the cleanest fit because the mounting points and contours match the cart.

What to measure

  • Available dash width and depth
  • Clearance around key switches and USB outlets
  • Steering-wheel movement and knee space
  • Windshield hinge or fold-down clearance
  • Cup diameter and bottle height

Storage that stays secure

Choose compartments with lips, mats or retention features so phones, keys and small items do not slide out over bumps. Avoid mounting a hard accessory where it can contact the driver during an abrupt stop.

If a phone is the main item you want to secure, our phone mount fitment guide covers vibration and visibility in more detail. For broader everyday upgrades, see useful golf cart add-ons.

Universal vs model-specific organizers

Universal holders are flexible but may require clamps or drilling. Model-specific dash organizers usually fit more cleanly and keep controls easier to reach. If your cart has an aftermarket dash, measure it rather than assuming factory dimensions still apply.

Weather and vibration

For outdoor carts, look for drainage, UV-resistant materials and hardware that will not loosen easily. Rubber inserts can reduce rattles and help bottles stay secure on rough surfaces.

Common fitment mistakes

Do not block the key switch, parking-brake access, windshield latches or steering-column movement. On carts with custom dashes, factory-style organizers may no longer line up. Test the driving position before drilling or tightening permanent hardware.

Best use case

Use cup holders for drinks and quick-access items, but use a dedicated phone mount for navigation and a closed compartment for valuables. Separating those functions keeps the dash cleaner and safer.
