Best EZGO RXV Light Kits

Short answer: choose an EZGO RXV light kit by the cart’s year range first. Current aftermarket listings commonly split 2008-2015 RXV carts from 2016-up carts, and those kits should not be treated as interchangeable.

This article is deliberately separate from our TXT light-kit guide because RXV body openings, harnesses, and year breaks are different.

The RXV year split matters

Many current kits specifically target 2008-2015 RXV carts, while newer kits target 2016-up. Before ordering, identify the cart year and compare the headlight/taillight shape, harness plugs, and mounting layout with the seller photos.

RXV light kits worth comparing

Deluxe 2016-up RXV LED kit

This kit targets 2016-up RXV carts and includes road-style functions such as turn signals, brake lights, and horn.

Dr.Acces 2008-2015 RXV LED kit

This listing targets the earlier 2008-2015 electrical RXV generation. It is a better comparison for owners of those carts than adapting a 2016-up kit.

VPAHub 2016+ basic RXV light kit

This is a more basic 2016-up setup with headlights, taillights, harness, and hardware rather than a full deluxe street-style package.

Basic vs deluxe RXV kits

A basic kit is useful when you mainly need headlights and taillights. Deluxe kits add turn signals, horn, brake-light functions, and extra switching. Buy the functions you need rather than adding complexity that will never be used.

Voltage and accessory power

RXV carts may use a higher-voltage traction system while lighting operates at a lower accessory voltage. Follow the kit’s supplied harness/reducer strategy rather than improvising a single-battery tap. Poor power conversion can cause dim lights, failed components, or pack imbalance.

Installation planning

  1. Confirm year range and gas/electric fitment.
  2. Test-fit lamp housings before cutting any panel.
  3. Disconnect power before wiring.
  4. Route the harness away from steering and suspension movement.
  5. Test every function before reinstalling trim.

Street-use reminder

A deluxe lighting kit can add equipment commonly required for road use, but the kit alone does not make an RXV street legal. Local rules may also require mirrors, windshield, seat belts, registration, reflectors, or speed-related compliance.

How to identify 2008-2015 vs 2016-up RXV lighting

Use the cart’s serial/model information first, then compare the shape of the factory openings and connectors. Do not rely only on registration year or the year a used cart was purchased. Body parts can be swapped, and listings often use broad year ranges. Photograph the existing front and rear lamp areas before ordering.

Factory lighting vs adding a complete kit

If the RXV already has factory headlights and taillights, you may need replacement assemblies or an upgraded signaling harness rather than a full body-cut kit. Replacing only the failed component can preserve factory mounting and reduce wiring changes. A complete kit makes more sense on carts that never had road-style lighting installed.

Turn signals, brake lights, and horn testing

After installing a deluxe kit, test each function independently: low-beam/headlight circuit, left turn, right turn, hazards, horn, running lights, and brake lights. Then test combinations such as braking while a turn signal is active. Electrical problems that appear only when two circuits are used together often point to a poor ground or incorrect harness connection.

Protecting the harness

RXV harnesses run through areas exposed to vibration and service work. Secure wiring with clips that allow slight movement without chafing, keep it away from steering shafts and suspension travel, and use grommets where wires pass through body panels. Do not bury fuses or connectors where future service requires removing major body sections.

Lighting aim after installation

Even a correctly fitted LED lamp can create glare if aimed too high. Park the cart on level ground, load it approximately as it is normally driven, and adjust the beam so it illuminates the path without shining directly into other drivers’ eyes. Recheck aim after suspension or tire-size changes.

Bottom line

For an EZGO RXV, the year break is the first filter. Match 2008-2015 or 2016-up fitment, then decide whether you need a basic lighting package or a deluxe kit with signaling and horn functions.
