A standard two-passenger Club Car Precedent is roughly 91.5 inches long, 47.25 inches wide and 68.5 inches high in a representative Club Car fleet specification. Wheelbase is about 65.5 inches and ground clearance about 4.5 inches. Actual weight and dimensions can change with powertrain, batteries, rear seats, roofs, lift kits, tires and accessories.
Representative Club Car Precedent dimensions
| Specification | Representative value |
|---|---|
| Overall length | 91.5 in |
| Overall width | 47.25 in |
| Overall height | 68.5 in |
| Wheelbase | 65.5 in |
| Ground clearance | 4.5 in |
| Standard tire size | 18 x 8.50-8 |
| Gas curb weight | About 642 lb |
| Electric curb weight | About 903 lb in the referenced lead-acid configuration |
These figures come from a Club Car Precedent fleet brochure and are best treated as a baseline for a standard two-passenger cart, not a guarantee for every Precedent ever built.
Why electric carts are heavier
Lead-acid battery packs add substantial mass. A gas Precedent and an electric Precedent can therefore have the same basic body dimensions but very different curb weights. Lithium conversions may reduce battery weight, although the final number depends on battery capacity, mounting hardware and other upgrades.
A rear seat changes the overall length
Aftermarket rear-seat kits extend behind the original body and can add significant weight. The exact added length depends on the seat frame, footplate and whether accessories such as a cargo box, hitch or grab bar are installed. Measure the cart after the rear seat is fitted if trailer or garage clearance is tight.
Lift kits change height and clearance
A lifted Precedent can be several inches taller than stock. Larger tires add more height again. A nominal 4-inch lift does not mean the total cart height increases by exactly 4 inches because tire diameter, suspension geometry and roof configuration also contribute.
Wheel and tire fitment
The representative fleet specification uses 18 x 8.50-8 tires. Larger wheel-and-tire packages are common, but they can require additional clearance or a lift depending on overall tire diameter and wheel offset. Check our Club Car Precedent wheels and tires guide before changing sizes.
Trailer sizing
Do not select a trailer from the stock overall length alone. A rear seat, hitch, brush guard or extended roof can make the loaded cart longer. Measure from the furthest front point to the furthest rear point and include enough width for tires, side steps or fender accessories.
Garage and storage clearance
A stock-height Precedent fits comfortably through many standard residential garage openings, but lifted carts and extended roofs deserve an actual measurement. Measure the tallest fixed point with the roof installed and include a safety margin instead of relying only on the brochure number.
Gas and electric specifications vary by year
The Precedent platform has used different engines, electric-drive systems, chargers and batteries over its production life. The dimension table above is useful for physical planning, but service specifications should come from the manual for the exact model year and serial prefix.
How to confirm your exact Precedent
If you are unsure which version you own, read the serial-number label and model prefix first. Our Club Car Precedent identification guide explains where to look and what the serial format means.
For older carts, compare the platform with our Club Car DS dimensions and specs guide.
Bottom line
Use 91.5 x 47.25 x 68.5 inches and a 65.5-inch wheelbase as a useful reference for a standard two-passenger Precedent, then measure the actual cart before buying a trailer, enclosure, cover or storage system. Rear seats, lifts, tires and battery changes can alter both dimensions and weight.
