Yamaha Drive2 Dimensions, Weight and Specs

The Yamaha Drive2 is a compact two-passenger personal transportation vehicle, but its weight and a few chassis dimensions vary by powertrain. For the current 2027 Drive2 PTV lineup, overall length is about 93.7 inches and overall width is about 47.2 inches. The biggest weight difference is between flooded lead-acid electric, lithium, and gas versions.

2027 Yamaha Drive2 PTV dimensions at a glance

Overall width 47.2 in 47.2 in 47.2 in

Wheelbase 64.4 in 64.4 in 64.6 in

Curb weight 787 lb 1,058 lb 805 lb
Top speed 19.0 mph 19.5 mph 19.5 mph

Why the weight varies so much

The flooded lead-acid PowerTech AC version is much heavier because it carries a full multi-battery pack. Yamaha lists six 8V Trojan T875 batteries as standard, with other lead-acid configurations available. The lithium Drive2 uses one lithium-ion battery, cutting several hundred pounds from curb weight. The gas QuieTech model falls between the two because it carries an engine, fuel system, exhaust and a smaller starting battery rather than a traction battery pack.

Weight matters when you are comparing trailer capacity, floor loading, towing, lift-kit behavior and tire load capacity. Do not use dry-weight figures from older brochures when you need real transport weight; current Yamaha specification pages publish curb/wet weight for the present models.

Width, garage clearance and trailer fit

At roughly 47.2 inches wide, a stock Drive2 fits easily inside many garages and utility trailers, but mirrors and aftermarket accessories can add effective width. Measure the widest point after accessories are installed. Side mirrors, wider wheels, spacers and brush guards can matter more than the published body width.

If you are planning a cover, enclosure, trailer or storage bay, measure the cart rather than relying on a generic “Yamaha” label. Roof height, rear-seat conversions and lifted suspension can substantially change the envelope.

Wheelbase and turning radius

The Drive2 PTV wheelbase is about 64.4 inches on gas and lead-acid AC versions and 64.6 inches on the current lithium version. Yamaha lists a minimum turning radius of about 9.5 feet for the PTV models. A longer wheelbase generally improves straight-line stability, but actual maneuverability is also influenced by steering geometry, wheel offset, tire diameter and suspension changes.

Suspension differences by Drive2 version

The current PTV QuieTech EFI and lithium versions use independent front and rear strut suspension. The 2027 PTV PowerTech AC page also lists independent front and rear suspension. This is important when shopping for suspension parts because older Drive2 fleet configurations and older model-year literature may show different rear-suspension arrangements.

Always match parts to the exact cart and model year. Our Drive2 lift-kit guide and Drive2 wheel and tire guide are organized around that fitment requirement.

Powertrain specifications

QuieTech EFI: Yamaha’s 357cc single-cylinder EFI gas engine powers the current gas PTV. It uses pedal start and forced-air cooling.

PowerTech AC: The current electric PTV uses a 48V AC motor rated at 6.7 hp, paired with a Toyota Industries-built controller and Delta-Q charger or equivalent.

PowerTech Li: The lithium version also uses a 48V AC motor rated at 6.7 hp but substitutes a single lithium-ion traction battery for the heavier lead-acid pack.

Tires and ground clearance

Current Drive2 PTV versions use 205/65-10 DOT-rated tires. Ground clearance is roughly 5.5 to 6.1 inches depending on powertrain. That is enough for normal paved and course-style use, but it is not the same as a lifted utility cart. Larger tires can increase clearance, yet they also change gearing, steering effort and fender clearance.

Which Drive2 dimensions should you use?

Use the specification page for the exact powertrain and model year you own. The headline length and width are very similar across the present PTV versions, but curb weight, ground clearance, wheelbase and roof height can differ. Accessories can change the real-world dimensions further.

Bottom line

For a current two-seat Yamaha Drive2 PTV, plan around roughly 93.7 inches long, 47.2 inches wide and about 70 to 71.5 inches tall with the roof. Curb weight ranges from about 787 pounds for QuieTech EFI to 1,058 pounds for flooded lead-acid PowerTech AC, with the lithium version at about 805 pounds. Verify your exact model before ordering covers, trailers, lifts or model-specific accessories.
